Blank Inspiration
Throughout the last year, I’ve had the opportunity to grow in a relationship with another small business Blank Inspiration. If you know me at all, you know I feel passionately about helping others to grow— not only my own personal growth. I wouldn’t be writing this blog if this wasn’t a company I admire and believe in. So, artist friends, if you’ve been wondering about taking the leap to TRY these canvases, maybe this post will help push you over the edge. This IS an advertisement, but it is not paid. This is a volunteered personal testimony because I know THAT is what adds value to the small businesses we love.
My first interaction with Blank Inspiration came through an ad on social media. I was totally smitten with the idea of my canvases arriving at my house pre-framed. Not only pre-framed but pre-framed in a float frame. NOT ONLY IN A FLOAT FRAME but my favorite “unfinished” aesthetic. As you can tell, the ad itself sold me on at least trying them out.
I’d be lying if I didn’t share that one thing I’ve learned, based on the platform I’ve created on Instagram, is to negotiate collaborations — swapping products for content. So, as per my typical, I reached out and simply asked if I could TRY the product and do a review/provide some content for the company. The coolest thing I learned right away, is that Blank is happy to let ANY artist, large platform or not, try their product for free. It wasn’t long before I had my first 16x16 framed canvas in hand.
I love the finished product— but what made me fall in love with Blank Inspiration initially wasn’t the frame or the end result. It was the PROCESS of painting on this beautifully textured canvas. I was surprised to find that the toothiness of the canvas itself was what made painting on it a joy. The texture inspired me to keep working with acrylic this year and exploring new ideas I’d been mulling over for months.
After I tried my first Blank Inspiration canvas, I started chatting with the owner, Hadleigh, and getting to know the company and its values. I recorded a podcast episode with Hadz, and we connected as friends. It was refreshing to chat and hear his heart for helping artists succeed. Hadleigh’s sister is an artist, so he has seen the ins and outs of material costs, pricing your work, etc. Hadz wanted to see material costs come down so that artists could keep their costs low, making art more affordable for their collectors as well. As an artist whose core values include generosity, I love getting my art into people’s hands. Blank Inspiration’s goals line up with my own, so here I was again, totally buying in.
I had Jade, Hadleigh’s business partner, come and chat with my online artist community, Harvest. Jade clicked well with women of our community and once again allowed the whole group to try the canvases free and fall in love themselves,
After our podcast together, I wanted to do all I could to help Blank Inspiration grow and get their products into the hands of other artists I care about. We set up an affiliate link (CLICK HERE) and I began planning my next project on their canvases. I ordered SIX 24x24 pre-framed canvases to bring my vision to life.
Blank Inspiration canvases come in unbranded boxes, making it super easy to paint and ship back out to collectors with your own branding. They come well-packed with foam corners and edges, protecting the frame and canvas.
Before painting, I very easily remove the frame (8 screws). There is a little mark on the back that helps you line the frame back up perfectly when you’re reattaching it. This process takes seconds. It’s MUCH easier than other float frames I’ve used.
The process is pretty streamlined for me:
-unbox
-remove frame
-sketch
-paint
-re-frame
-package
-ship out or take to show
I honestly cannot thank Blank Inspiration enough for creating a quality and affordable product. Beyond that, I can’t thank them enough for their heart to see artists succeed at putting their art out into the world in an elevated way.
If you haven’t tried Blank canvases, I highly recommend them. If you use my link it supports what I do.
