The abstract minis collection stems from a desire to streamline and perfect my process while inspiring my own creativity in a zero pressure practice. Each abstract was created in a small series with the same color palette. The process starts with a foundation of watercolor brush strokes and washes in 1-3 various pigments. The last step I took on this series was adding line work and markings. This step is done with charcoal, pastels, and pen and ink.
This abstract process allows my creativity to flow without a stifling commitment to style or materials. Though the process is low pressure, it’s opened my mind and my heart to my artistic voice in a new way. I believe this series will be the springboard for where my art is going, and will perhaps find its home.
Minis are suggested to be matted with a large mat and framed in a fine line modern frame. Navy or white mats are available in 8x10 or 11x14 for an additional charge in the shop under “mat add on.”
